Winona-Ryder
Winona Ryder (born Winona Laura Hornowitz) was born in Winona Minnesota. Her parents named her Winona in honor of her home town. Michel Horowitz' father was editor and author along with Cynthia Palmer and her mother. Ryder is a self-described Jewish, is descended from Ryder's Jewish father. Ryder has a younger brother Uria as well as two half siblings Jubal and Sunyata. When Ryder was seven, her family moved to Mendocino County California. There was no electricity. Ryder became an avid book reader because there was no TV. Ryder was enrolled in acting classes when Ryder was twelve years old, at the American Conservatory Theatre. Lucas was released in 1986, and Ryder who was just 15 years old, was offered the role of a leading actor. Ryder was bullied throughout high school. Her thought was that by becoming an actor, her behavior would be changed. Sadly, this didn't occur. Still, she pursued her dreams. She got her break in Tim Burton's Beetlejuice in the year 1988. Ryder was a star in numerous films. In 1993, Ryder was nominated two times for the Academy Awards.
