April Ross
April Ross is only one of only a handful of beach volleyball players who have earned medals more than once at an Olympics. In Tokyo during the next few days she will attempt to claim her third Olympic medal along with the first-time Olympian Alix Klineman. Ross also hopes to get her very first Olympic gold. Perhaps it is her last chance at winning, as she's 39 old. Still confident but she is not sure. Ross through NBC Boston, said that if the team plays well or at all it could be able to win gold. Additionally, I'm going to rely on a bit of good luck. Ross, who was born 1982 and lived within Costa Mesa California with her mother and sister, first began participating in sports at Newport Harbor High School. Her athletic career continued at Newport Harbor High School where she participated in several different sports. As a prep-athlete, she also played indoor track and volleyball. In the last sport she stood out. According to her bio, during high school she was a volleyball player as an outside hitter (middle blocker) and the setter (outside blocker). Gatorade Circle Of Champions named her the National Player 1999. Her volleyball skills also earned her the Orange County Athlete of the Awards in the year 2000. While Ross Klineman and Ross are a couple since 2017, the former was already an established participant on the beaches prior to their team. She actually won several major championships while playing with two different partners, one of whom is a volleyball icon. For six years from 2007 until 2013, she was a team with Jennifer Kessy who more recently played the role of Klineman's coach. Kessy and Ross were strong on the international circuit, winning a 2009 world title with each other. The duo would go on to win a silver at the 2012 Olympic Games at London. Misty Maytreanor (Jennings) as well as Misty Maytreanor took home gold overtaking them. Ross Walsh was Walsh Jennings new partner after May-Treanor's resignation. The pair went on to earn the beach volleyball bronze in the Rio Olympics in 2016. Ross played for the Trojans of USC throughout her college years before becoming a professional. The time she spent at the school was one to remember. The year 2000 was her freshman year. saw her earn the Pac-10 as well as NCAA Freshman's of the Year awards and be an All-American. She was also an integral player for helping the Trojans to make it to their way to the Final Four. During her sophomore year she suffered a tremendous personal loss but still managed to repeat as an All-American. During her final two seasons with the Trojans team, she led them to success by winning two consecutive national championships. She had established her place as a legend having won the 2003-2004 Honda Sports Award as the most outstanding female college volleyball player. Ross who was who was a USC international relations major, was a volleyball star. Margie Ross wasn't able to witness her daughter's climb to beach volleyball fame. Ross's mother passed away from breast cancer when she was a sophomore in USC. But, she will always keep her mother's memory close and close. In addition, Margie remains a source of inspiration to her on the beach as well as in everyday life.
