Amy Smart has been a model, actress, as well as a former American. Amy Smart, who was born and raised California USA began her modelling in Italy. In 1996 she debuted as an actor in the TV movie Her Costly Affair. The struggle she had to get the role on Starship Troopers, a film that featured mostly minor roles, was extremely intense. It was difficult for her to make the transition from modeling to acting since the models werent usually thought of as actors, and they were usually assigned smaller roles that were insignificant. Amy was determined to succeed and was eventually offered larger parts beginning at The 70s, the movie Varsity Blues. Then she stepped into main roles for the 2005 romantic comedy film Just Friends which also starred Ryan Reynolds. It was a huge box office success and Amy was finally able to get the success she'd been seeking for more than 10 years. Amy continued to make important films, including the Crank series opposite Jason Statham and the series Shameless in which she portrayed a well loved recurring character.
